Our best smelling project, North + Rose.

At a candle making event, we met owner, Lauren, and were instantly excited about how she started her candle company, how it got its name, and what was up next for her. So much so, that when she asked us to design her first ever brick and mortar shop, we had to really play it cool, but seconds after that email was received, a very enthusiastic “YES” was replied.

This space was not just about becoming a candle shop, it was about helping another creative take the next step in their career, to be part of the exciting expansion of opening a shop.

A cozy and approachable space for not only shopping and workshops, but community and coffee too. A place that fits so perfectly in Carleton Place that it has become a destination.

Paying homage to the original butter factory that this building used to be, you can see old framed photos of how it used to look on the walls in the space, and there is even a candle named ‘The Creamery’. In the design, we added subtle hints of roses from the name, North + Rose, found in the wall sconces and fabrics in this shop. Always connecting spaces to be intentional and thoughtful.
